A leading property consultancy has been instructed to help a Middlesbrough-based
developer find new businesses to move into three high-spec office complexes it
has spent millions refurbishing.
The Teesside office of Sanderson Weatherall, along with joint letting agent,
Dodds Brown, has been appointed by Python Properties to assist with letting arrangements
for offices in the Co-operative Building on Linthorpe Street and in Royal Middlehaven
House on Gosford Street.
The firms are also assisting with pre-lets for the soon-to-be-complete revamp
of Redcar and Cleveland Council’s former home, the Cargo Fleet Business Centre
on Middlesbrough Road.
Sanderson Weatherall’s Tim Carter said Python Properties had developed flexible
leasing contracts to lure new occupiers and help businesses make the move during
tough trading conditions.
He said: “We’re delighted to be appointed by Python Properties to market these
very exciting refurbishments. High quality office space has been thin on the
ground in Middlesbrough, so the re-launch of these three buildings will help ease
demand.
“Factor in leasing arrangements like rent holidays and ‘easy in, easy out terms’,
and occupancy benefits like communal reception facilities and these are very attractive
propositions. We’re expecting interest to be high from businesses looking to relocate
or move into the area.”
Earlier this year, Python Properties’ centrally-located Co-operative Building
won Middlesbrough Council’s Urban Design Award and then last month went on to
win an Evening Gazette poll of its readers’ favourite building. The awards follow
a £2m restoration project that revitalised the building’s external appearance.
Nearly 30,000 sq ft of space is available at the site.
And following a substantial refurbishment at Royal Middlehaven House, just a
handful of suites remain. The revamp enhanced the office space and brought an
art gallery and bistro onto the ground floor.
