Sanderson Weatherall’s Industrial Agency is celebrating after hitting £100m in
stock turnover on sites across the region.
During the last three years, the firm’s Newcastle and Teesside offices have completed
deals on buildings and land to the equivalent value as the current price tag placed
on Newcastle United Football Club.
Director of Industrial Agency, James Pain, feels that the firm’s newly released
figures are further evidence of the region’s solid industrial sector despite difficult
trading conditions.
“We have worked extremely hard to build the department to where it is today and
in the last three years we have really pushed to help our clients to meet their
property needs,” he said. “Our team has developed a fantastic reputation both
locally and nationally and the figures are testament to this.”
The firm of leading chartered surveyors and property consultants provides clients
with specialist advice on the sale, development, and funding of industrial property,
acting on behalf of manufacturers, logistics operations and financial institutions.
Jonathan Simpson, Associate Director in its Teesside office, said: “Having joined
Sanderson Weatherall three years ago, both James, myself and our colleagues have
worked extremely hard over the past few years to build up our industrial agency
presence in the North East. While some areas in commercial property are incredibly
tough at present, interest and investment in the industrial and logistics sectors
continues. Despite rents and capital values contracting we are still seeing a
healthy turnover of space.
“We expect sale and letting volumes will continue at a steady pace for the rest
of 2009 with a number of deals already appearing on the horizon.”
