Sanderson Weatherall’s North East offices are celebrating after being voted as
‘the most active National and overall agent for the North East’ in the Estates
Gazette’s 2009 Most Active Agent Deals competition.
The firm, whose offices include premises on Grey Street in Newcastle’s city centre
and on Teesside, has completed in the last year on in excess of one million sq
ft of commercial space within the region to take the title.
Tim Catterall, Director of Agency, Investment & Development at Sanderson
Weatherall, said: "We have a top team who use innovative ideas to market properties
across many sectors for our clients.
“In these difficult times, you have to be able to use your initiative and coax
each and every transaction through to completion. This gives us an edge on our
competitors and is the reason we are celebrating such great news at the end of
a challenging twelve-month period. Being named as the most active national agent
is testament to the hard work and skills of our agency team and this title helps
strengthen our position both regionally and nationally in the months ahead.”
In the North East, Sanderson Weatherall has been particularly active in the commercial
marketplace over the last 12 months with high profile clients and transactions
across all sectors.
These include the North East’s two largest retail schemes, Metrocentre and Newcastle’s
Eldon Square, a variety of office acquisitions and disposals including acting
for Marchday Group Plc at Lingfield Point, Darlington and for McAleer & Rushe
at St James' Gate in Newcastle, together with a mix of large and small industrial
deals across the region. This included the completion of 125,000 sq ft at Stephen
House in Hartlepool, a 57,000 sq ft deal at Dukesway on Teesside Industrial Estate
and a 38,300 sq ft unit on Brunel Way on Durranhill Industrial Estate in Carlisle.
The Estates Gazette Deals competition enables operators to discover where they
rank amongst the most successful agents in their area. All commercial deals, large
or small can be submitted.
This new accolade follows an announcement earlier in the year that the leading
property consultancy had been honoured for a staggering five years in a row, in
a campaign where over 4,000 votes were cast, when Sanderson Weatherall was named
as ‘Property Advisor of the Year’ in the North East and Yorkshire.
Between 2005 and 2007 inclusive, Sanderson Weatherall was named Property Adviser
of the Year. In 2008, the team picked up the Estates Gazette award for Property
Adviser of the Year for the North.
Sanderson Weatherall is a national firm of chartered surveyors and property consultants
with five offices throughout the north of England and London. With over 250 staff
